progress is slow - no work today

progress on the backyard has been slow over the past few days - no work done today at all. Paul is waiting for a base for the water feature which is now several days late. he spent a few hours yesterday putting in some border blocks but there is still a bit to do here.

The plants (or most of them) have been delivered so they are ready to be planted when the pond is in place.

I still need to get some of the brick paving i removed taken away as they are in the way for several plants which will be planted in the front of the house outside the wall.

hopefully there will be more progress tomorrow or completion by the end of next week might be a challenge.

blitz continues

well folks its been a couple of weeks since i last posted to this blog, due to holidays. while we were away progress was made. we now have some "paving" in place and the brick wall for the garden bed.

I spent today filling in the timber area with fibro-board. I will paint it tomorrow with a sand coloured textured paint and it will look like the remainder of the wall. Looks better dont you think?

this week we should have some plants in the garden and a new water feature. With a bit of luck it might actually be completed by the end of the week.

nothing achieved today

for a variety of reasons not much if anything was accomplished today. Paul turned up as planned around 7am. I set my alarm for 6.30am and promptly killed it and went back to sleep (dreaming of a former boss - work that out). Sue woke me and I threw some clothes on and spent a few minutes with Paul looking at the reticulation.

the girls arrived a little bit after 8 am and everyone agreed there wasnt much for anyone to do so everyone left.

I was supposed to have a wall built tomorrow, but my brother in law will not be able to do anything tomorrow so it will all start Friday i guess.

I cant wait for this project to be over and to see the fruits of everyone's labour.

this garden will need to last at least (till i sell this place).

didnt get much done today

buggerised around a bit today. Wanted to try and get the timber sorted out so i could fit the panels before i go, but i cant seem to find the right tool for the job. Thought i might be able to use an angle grinder with a cutting blade so I went and bought one. When i got the first one home i found it had some parts missing, so i took it back. Unfortunately, i had gotten changed and i had left my credit cards at home so i had to come back and get them. So in the end i made three trips to the hardware store (20 mins each way) before i managed to get sorted. then when i tried to use it it really didnt do what i expected.

then i had to go out so not much achieved. I will have a talk to Paul who is starting tomorrow and see if he has any ideas or tools.

the makeover is officially supposed to commence tomorrow.

blitz to proceed - we agreed with Plan C

went and had a look at an example of the Plan C option and then took Sue to check it out as well. We have agreed to go with it. Based on that i spent a few hours today getting some sand/cement for the limestone and removing the balance of the paving. the yard is now officially a sand pit and the major works i have to do are now completed (thankfully).
